Who I am
My name is Anne-Britt Orlik. Before founding
Writing Barefoot in 2004, I served as the first CEO of a nonprofit coalition committed to making Wisconsin the safest
place in the nation for health care.
In public- and private-sector professional positions
before that, I strengthened skills in policy development, strategic planning, collaborative decision-making, team-building,
and marketing/communications.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Education and have trained with
some of the Midwest's most respected facilitators.
What I do
Today my
clients are as diverse as the projects they bring. They are nonprofits, small businesses, entrepreneurs, educators, state
agencies, individuals in transition, and everyone in between.
Core services include:
- Meeting, retreat and workshop
design and facilitation
- Writing and editing for print and electronic media
- Process design and
project management
Why I do it
"Thank you so much for facilitating our staff retreat day. Your questions were helpful
to get the dialogue going. Since my husband passed away recently I'm facing LOTS of change and I hope I can use some
of the positive ways to deal with change that we came up with as a staff. Thanks!"
"Thank you thank you thank you. I'm Quaker, and in Quakerism we often say, "Way
will open." Mostly I feel like that is just something to make a person feel better. Silver-lining kind of talk. But sometimes
in my life, way really does start to open. Forgive me if it's painfully cheesy for you, but thanks for being part of my
way."
